The provisional GCSE results released yesterday show that all of Leicester’s Schools passed the new government target of 35% of students getting at least five A* – C grades including English and Maths. There were some remarkable improvements most notably New College which went from 28% last year to 44%.

This is the result of hard work by students, staff and parents. You can read about this achievement in the Leicester Mercury. The Mercury opinion piece entitled “GCSEs are a real success story for city†and it’s statement that “The challenge now is to sustain these improvements and build on them further.†is absolutely true.

We’re sure Leicester Schools will continue to improve and we will play our part in ensuring that happens.
