Ed Balls in Leicester tomorrow, Wednesday 6th April, to launch Labour’s by-election campaign.

In the coming weeks voters in Leicester will have the opportunity to send a message to this Tory- led government. People in Leicester are being hit hardest by the Tory-led government’s cuts and as members of this party we all have a duty to stand with them. By the day of the election I want everyone in Leicester to have heard a message that you and I believe in, that these cuts are too fast and too deep.

Please join us and take a stand against the Tory-led government’s broken promises and reckless gamble with the economy.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 6th April, Ed Balls MP, Labour’s Shadow Chancellor, will be in Leicester to officially launch Labour’s campaign for the parliamentary by-election and we hope you will be able to come along and join us.

De Montfort University

Ed will begin his visit at De Montfort University where he will join Labour’s candidate Jon Ashworth, at an outdoor Q&A session with students and young people. A year on from Nick Clegg’s visit to DMU where he promised to scrap tuition fees, Ed will listen to students and young people talk about the Lib Dem’s broken promises which have betrayed the life chances and aspirations of a generation of Leicester’s young people.

If you would like to attend then please come along to Magazine Square, The Gateway, Leicester, LE1 9BH at 14:50

Election launch with members

Following this Ed will then join Jon Ashworth, Peter Soulsby and members for a campaign launch at the Liberty Statue on Upperton Road / Eastern Boulevard, Leicester. This will take place at 16:00 and we would love to see as many members there as possible.

If you would like to attend then please come along to the Liberty Statue, Upperton Road at 15:45.

If you would like any further details about these visits then please email Vicky Street at or call the campaign hotline on 07872 417 224.
