As the tory led Government brings the NHS Bill back for scrutiny to the House of Commons Committee stage, Liz Kendall MP for Leicester West and shadow health minister, looks at the revised bill in detail. She finds that despite Cameron’s public statements, the Health Bill is still fundamentally the same with a core aspect still to promote “competition” and an ever confusing array of new bodies and structures. All of this massive reorganisation is underpinned with the NHS having to make £20 billion of cuts affecting frontline services.
