News From The Labour Party In Leicester

Labour Releases its website for Leicester www.labourinleicester.org.uk

For the first time, the Labour Party in Leicester have published a website as part of its campaign to win back control of Leicester City Council.  The site has the list of candidates for all 54 seats up for re-election, contact details and Labour's local manifesto, plus links to Labour's three MPs in the City and our MEP.

To show our commitment to equal opportunities, all of Labour's candidates have signed up to the compact from the Leicester And Leicestershire Multi-cultural Advisory Group at The Race Equality Centre

Labour Decisively Wins 2007 City Council Elections

Labour party members took 38 of the 54 seats on Leicester City Council, making us the largest party and allowing us to take control of the Council again.

Councillor Ross Willmott will be the Leader, and Councillor Mary Draycott the deputy Leader.  Positions for Cabinet and Scrutiny will be announced in due course.
