I am honoured to have been selected as a Labour Party candidate for Castle ward, a place I feels privileged to be able to call home.
I am a Secondary School teacher and Head of Year.
I can provide an invaluable insight into the often-hidden struggles people within the community face and being in a position to help them overcome these is not a responsibility I take lightly.
It is this drive and passion for helping others that has led me to stand in this election.
As a local Councillor, I will be a voice and a champion for the ward, working tirelessly to represent, improve and promote the neighbourhood.
I feel a strong sense of duty to ensure everyone, regardless of background, is given the tools and opportunities to succeed. It is this belief that I have held steadfast from an early age and is at the core of everything I do.
This is why I am your Labour candidate.

I have been a hard-working and dedicated representative for Castle since being elected in June 2017. I have also been as Assistant City Mayor since September 2017. As part of a Labour team, I have
- introduced the resident parking scheme in Clarendon Park
- worked with the community to improve our libraries and local green and public spaces
- secured investment to restore and enhance the Victoria Park pavilion
- protected the council run school meal service
- secured investment and provided support for the city’s textile workers
- backed projects that have helped people who have long been out of work into training and jobs
- led on securing better public value from our procurement, ensuring more is spent locally on jobs with a living wage and secures wider community benefit
I love representing both where I live in Castle and working on behalf of the city that I love, grew up in and watched my kids grown up in.
