Ajay Aggarwal
I am honoured to be your candidate for Evington North in the upcoming local elections on May 4th, 2023. As a dedicated solicitor, I have devoted my life to pursuing justice, advocating for the marginalized, and challenging the powerful.
For 14 years, I have been a proud Labour Party activist and a Unite union member. Throughout this time, I have committed myself to campaigning in every election and delivering many projects for diverse communities.
I firmly believe in zero-tolerance towards Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, Anti-Hinduism, and any form of racial prejudice. I am driven by a deep passion for combating poverty and inequality, and I pledge to fight tirelessly to protect our NHS and increase support for vulnerable communities.
As your representative, I promise to champion the values of equality and diversity. I will work relentlessly to create a more inclusive, just, and representative social system that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our community. I humbly ask for your support and trust as we work together to build a brighter future for Evington North.

I left Birmingham in 1993 with a vision to introduce the authentic ‘Balti’ Cuisine to the people of Leicester.
In 1993, with the happy combination of successful first year of trading and a commitment to help others, I held my first charity dinner in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal. It was such a success that charity meals have happened at my T&K Balti House every year since.
I have also hosted other charity dinners to raise funds for Bangladeshi Orphans, Bangladeshi flood victims, the Tsunami for south Asia to name but a few.
My active participation in British politics has built a strong bridge between the Bangladeshi community and the British mainstream political Parties in Leicester. I have dedicated time to serve the community including assisting the less able with benefits and immigration issues.
I was honoured with an MBE from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales on the 3″ of December 2003 at Buckingham Palace.
I am currently serving as the president of the Bangladesh Development Trust UK, as well as serving concurrently with other positions of responsibility in other organisations, I work tirelessly to improve the local economy and the social welfare of the community. I have worked to keep Bengali heritage alive through many charitable projects to help educate the poor and help housing projects in my homeland whilst fulfilling my duty to promote the Bangla language to the wider community. Since 2005 I have hosted an international mother language day event every year at the House of Commons. I am a keen believer in education and empowering women and children to strengthen and to develop our communities around the region.
